Beef Satay

Beef sirloin marinated and grilled. Beef skewers are served with a tangy sauce made from creamy peanut butter and reserved marinade.
Ingredients -
1 1/2 pounds Beef Sirloin Steak
1 Scallion, minced
1/3 cup Ketchup
1/4 cup Light Soy Sauce
3 tablespoons Dark Brown Sugar
3 tablespoons Fresh Lime Juice
1 tablespoon Peanut Oil
1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger, chopped
1 teaspoon minced Garlic
1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
Wooden Skewers, soaked in water 30 minutes
 
Preparation:

1. In a medium-mixing bowl, combine minced scallion, ketchup, light soy sauce, dark brown sugar, fresh limejuice, peanut oil, fresh ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Whisk to mix well.

2. Cut sirloin steak into ¾” cubes.

3. Add meat to marinade. Marinate for 2 hours.

4. Remove meat from marinade to plate and reserve marinade.

5. Preheat grill.

6. Place meat on skewers. Grill over direct heat 3-5 minutes, turn as needed.

7. Add reserved marinade to saucepan and bring to a boil.

8. Stir in peanut butter to create satay sauce.

9. Serve sauce with beef skewers.

 
Variations and Recipe Ideas:
Serve with crackers or garlic toast spears.
 
 

 

 


Cooking Tip

Sirloin Steak
You can substitute yur favorite steak for the sirloin called for in this recipe. As the beef is marinated for two hours, a high priced cut of beef is not necessary.

Skewers are soaked in water to avoid burning during griling. You can use metal skewers.
