Cranberry Cheese Spread

Cranberries, honey, and ground cinnamon mixed with cream cheese. Perfect topping for crackers and crusty bread slices. Cranberry cheese spread is great for using up leftover cranberry sauce.
Ingredients -
1 (8 ounces) package Cream Cheese, softened
2 tablespoons Honey
1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1 (16 ounces) can Whole Berry Cranberry Sauce
1/3 cup slivered Almonds, toasted
Assorted Crackers
 
Preparation:

1. Combine cream cheese, honey, cinnamon and sour cream in a small bowl.

2. Stir until smooth.

3. Chill in refrigerator at least an hour.

4. Stir cranberry sauce to smooth consistency.

5. Spread cream cheese mixture on crackers.

6. Top with a dollop of cranberry sauce.

7. Sprinkle with almonds.

Cooking Tip

Homemade Cranberry Sauce
Grate 1 navel orange and add to a saucepan with 1 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger. Add the juice from the orange into the saucepan and simmer over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Add 4 cups fresh whole cranberries and cook until they pop, about 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup toasted pecans and cool sauce, first on counter to room temperature, and then in refrigerator.
