Turkey and Cranberry Filled Won Tons

Mixture of shredded turkey, dried cranberries, slivered almonds, and cranberry sauce spooned into wonton wrappers. Wrappers are sealed and deep fried until golden brown.

Ingredients -
1-1/2 cups Cooked Turkey Breast Meat, shredded
2/3 cup Dried Cranberries
1/3 cup Almonds, slivered
1/2 cup Cranberry Sauce
1 (14 ounces) package Wonton Wrappers
1 quart Vegetable Oil
 
Preparation:

1. In a medium sized bowl mix the turkey, cranberries, almonds, and cranberry sauce.

2. Place 1 teaspoon of the mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.

3. Fold wrappers over filling and form a triangle.

4. Moisten the edges, and press with a fork to seal.

5. Heat the oil in large skillet or deep fryer.

6. Deep fry until the wonton's are golden brown.

Appetizer Tips -
Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Grate 1 navel orange and add to a saucepan with 1 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger. Add the juice from the orange into the saucepan and simmer over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Add 4 cups fresh whole cranberries and cook until they pop, about 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup toasted pecans and cool sauce, first on counter to room temperature, and then in refrigerator.
